SLOW CHARGING, TRIPPED BREAKERS, AND A PANEL THAT WASN'T BUILT FOR THIS
Most homes on Cape Cod were wired decades before anyone owned an electric vehicle. Plugging into a standard outlet adds three to five miles of range per hour. Fine in a pinch, useless if you actually drive your car. And many older panels simply don't have the spare capacity for a 40- or 50-amp circuit.

We also see chargers installed by handymen or general contractors that were never sized correctly, never permitted, and never inspected. That's a fire risk, a warranty problem, and a headache when you sell the house.

At the end of the day, most EV owners are dealing with:
• Overnight charging that still doesn't get them to full
• A garage or driveway with no outlet where they actually park
• An electrical panel that's already maxed out
• No idea what the charger, the wiring, and the permit should actually cost

FAST, CLEAN, AND PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED LEVEL 2 CHARGING
A properly installed Level 2 charger adds 25 to 40 miles of range per hour, so you leave every morning with a full battery. At Cape Cod Electrical, we handle the whole job: the load calculation, the dedicated circuit, the panel work if it's needed, the charger, and the permit. Everything is done safely, to code, and coordinated from start to finish.

Our installations are designed to:
• Charge your vehicle overnight, every night, without tripping anything
• Put the charger exactly where you park, indoors or out
• Protect your panel and leave room for future loads like heat pumps
• Look clean and intentional, not like an afterthought

Whether you're in a 1960s ranch in Dennis or a new build in Chatham, we size the circuit and charger to your car, your driving, and your home's electrical capacity.

This is not a quick, patchwork solution. It is a long-term upgrade to how you own an electric vehicle.
WE HANDLE EVERYTHING FROM START TO FINISH
Installing an EV charger should not mean coordinating an electrician, a permit office, and a charger vendor yourself. We take care of the entire process so you don't have to. From the first visit to the final inspection, everything is handled by our team with clear communication and clean execution.

We take care of:
• Load calculation and panel capacity check
• Panel upgrades or subpanels when needed
• Dedicated 40A, 50A or 60A circuit
• Charger supply and mounting (or installation of the charger you already own)
• Indoor, garage, or weatherproof outdoor installation
• Permit and Massachusetts electrical inspection
• Wi-Fi setup and a walkthrough so you know how to use it

As a Mass Save® approved contractor, we also help you take advantage of:
• Available utility and Mass Save EV charger rebates
• Financing options for qualified projects
That means less out-of-pocket cost and a smoother process from start to finish.

For new construction and remodel projects, we coordinate with your builder or other trades so the charger circuit is roughed in at the right time and done correctly the first time.

Every home is different, and the right EV charging setup depends on where you park, what you drive, and your panel's capacity. We walk you through your options and help you choose what makes the most sense, not just what is cheapest upfront.

Between charger brands, amperage, rebates, and hardwired versus plug-in, we'll help you find the right balance of speed, cost, and long-term flexibility. We install Enphase, Tesla, ChargePoint, Emporia, Wallbox and more.

Common installations we do:
The cleanest, fastest option for most homes. Enphase, Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint, Emporia, Wallbox and Grizzl-E, wired directly to a dedicated circuit for up to 48A charging.
A 50-amp outlet on a dedicated circuit gives you flexibility to plug in a portable charger, take it with you if you move, or swap brands later. Great for renters and second homes.
No garage? No problem. We trench and run conduit to a detached garage or set a weatherproof pedestal right where you park, so you charge outdoors year-round.
Many older Cape homes still run on 100-amp service. We upgrade the panel and service so you can charge an EV today and add a heat pump or hot tub tomorrow without tripping breakers.
Two EVs in the household? Shared driveway or condo association? We design load-sharing setups and handle the paperwork so everyone can charge without overloading the service.
Building or renovating? We rough in the conduit and circuit before drywall so adding a charger later is a 30-minute job instead of a full project.
WE'LL HELP YOU CHOOSE THE SERVICE THAT'S RIGHT FOR YOU
Between charger brands, amperage, rebates, and where you actually park, we will help you find the right balance of speed, cost, and long-term flexibility.

Our generator stopped working during the blizzard, the next morning we left numerous messages with a large well known electrical company that serviced it. They were closed. In a panic, I went to google and started making calls and leaving messages. My mom is 85 yrs, bedridden, and needed heat. I was so lucky! My third call and a wonderful lady answered. I explained what happened and she said she’d get Nick out to us in an hour. She’s an angel! Nick got here even sooner. Diagnosed the situation, the generator was doa, he said I can get one installed tomorrow for you if you’d like. We liked! By 2pm the next day we have a beautiful Generac that will power the whole house.
The crew that came were polite, funny, totally professional, and hard working! Cape Cod Electrical is now our electricians for all our needs. I can’t recommend them enough. I love that they’re a small business on the Cape who care about their customers.

Questions Homeowners
Typically Ask
Not always. We run a load calculation first. Many 200-amp panels have plenty of room; many 100-amp panels don't. We'll tell you exactly what your panel can handle before any work starts, and if an upgrade is needed we handle it as part of the same job.
A straightforward install near the panel is very different from a 100-foot run to a detached garage with a panel upgrade. That's why we don't quote over the phone. After a quick site visit you get a firm written price with no surprises, and we'll point you to any rebates that apply.
Hardwired is cleaner, weather-safe, and usually required for 48-amp charging. A NEMA 14-50 outlet gives you flexibility if you move or switch cars. Both are safe when installed correctly. We'll walk you through which fits your situation.
Yes. Bring the charger and we'll handle the circuit, mounting, permit, and inspection. If you haven't bought one yet, we can supply it and make sure it's the right amperage for your panel and your car.
Always. Massachusetts requires a permit and inspection for a new dedicated circuit, your homeowner's insurance expects it, and it protects you when you sell the house. We pull the permit and coordinate the inspection.
Often, yes. Mass Save and many electric utilities offer rebates on Level 2 home chargers and sometimes on the wiring work itself. Programs change, so we check what applies to your address at the time of your quote and help with the paperwork.
