General Electrical Questions
We provide complete residential and small commercial electrical services, including repairs, new wiring, panel upgrades, lighting, EV chargers, generator wiring, and electrical inspections throughout Cape Cod.
Electrical work must be done correctly to protect your home and family. A licensed electrician ensures all work is safe, code compliant, and properly permitted. Improper wiring can lead to fire, shock, and expensive future repairs. We ALWAYS send out licensed electricians to your home.
Common signs include frequent breaker trips, flickering lights, limited space for new circuits, or an older panel that cannot support modern electrical loads like EV chargers or heat pumps. Electrical equipment that is 40 years old on Cape Cod's corrosive environment should be evaluated for its condition regardless of symptoms.
An electrical inspection reviews your panel, smoke detectors, wiring, grounding, outlets, and overall system condition to identify safety issues, code concerns, and capacity limitations before they become problems.
Buzzing sounds, warm outlets, burning smells, flickering lights, or breakers that trip often are signs that your electrical system should be evaluated by a professional.

Yes. Cape Cod Electrical is fully licensed and insured in Massachusetts. Our electrical license number is 670 A1. All of our lead technicians are licensed journeyman or master electricians. Feel free to ask for their license number, they're proud to share it!
Yes. All work is performed to current Massachusetts and National Electrical Code standards and includes proper permitting and inspections where required. We get asked all the time to not pull a permit, or why we are pulling one. It is in yours and our best interest to pull a permit and get the work inspected. You will know the work was done to meet current NEC standards, and you won't have to worry about any homeowner insurance issues with non permitted work.
We generally recommend that a homeowner or decision maker be available at the start and end of the job to review the scope of work and answer any questions. For people with second homes we frequently do the work without anyone home and can always facetime to go over things.
We proudly serve Cape Cod from Bourne to Orleans.
Generator Questions
Generator size depends on what you want to power during an outage. We perform a load calculation on every generator quote to determine the size generator that is the right solution.
Portable generators require manual setup and gasoline fueling. Standby generators are permanently installed, automatically turn on during an outage, and provide seamless backup power.
Yes. We handle permitting, installation, transfer switch wiring, gas fitting, and coordinate inspections to ensure your generator system meets all local and state requirements.
Most standby generators should be serviced once per year to ensure reliable operation, proper battery condition, and safe performance during outages.
With a standby generator, power is restored automatically within seconds. Critical systems like heat, refrigeration, lighting, and medical equipment continue running without interruption.
Ductless Heat Pump Questions
A ductless heat pump provides efficient heating and cooling without the need for ductwork. These systems are ideal for homes without central air or for additions and renovations.
Yes. Modern cold climate heat pumps are designed to operate efficiently in New England temperatures and can provide reliable heating even during colder months. Mitsubishi Sumo heat pumps provide 100% heating capacity at -10 degrees F and continue to heat at -22 degrees F.
Most installations are completed in one to three days, depending on the number of indoor units and the electrical work required.
Many homeowners qualify for rebates and incentives through Mass Save and other programs. We can help you understand available options during the estimate process. We are a proud Mass Save Heat Pump Installer.
Some homes require panel or service upgrades to support a heat pump system. We evaluate your electrical capacity before installation to avoid future issues.
Routine filter cleaning and periodic professional service help maintain efficiency, comfort, and system longevity.
